Ginza Watch Shopping: Brand Boutiques, Multi-Brand Retailers and Pre-Owned Dealers

Ginza watch shops cover every way of buying a watch within a ten-minute walk: brand-owned boutiques, a building that houses a whole group’s brands, a historic retailer under a clock tower, and specialist pre-owned dealers. This guide groups them by type and sets out a route.

Brand boutiques

Grand Seiko

Japan’s best-known luxury watchmaker has two flagships here: the Flagship Boutique on Namiki Street (6-6-5 Ginza, opened June 2023) and the boutique on the first and second floors of the Wako main building (4-5-11 Ginza). See Buying Grand Seiko in Tokyo.

Nicolas G. Hayek Center

The Swatch Group’s Ginza building places its brands in separate glass showrooms around a central space, with Omega and Longines among them. It is a convenient place to try several of the group’s brands in one stop. For current Japanese prices on one Omega model, see our Speedmaster price guide.

Rolex and other houses

Authorised Rolex retailers operate in Ginza, and most major Swiss houses have their own boutique in the district. Check each brand’s official store locator for the address and hours. Our guide to Buying Rolex in Tokyo covers the retail position for that brand.

Wako

The Wako building at the Ginza 4-chome crossing, with its clock tower, is the district’s landmark and a long-established retailer of watches and jewellery. Apart from the Grand Seiko boutique, it is worth visiting for the building alone. It is about one minute from Ginza Station exit B1.

Pre-owned and multi-brand dealers

Dealer What it is known for
GINZA RASIN New and second-hand watches from Patek Philippe, Rolex, Franck Muller, Omega, IWC, Cartier and others. It runs a main store with a large selection and a separate Rolex-specialist store on Ginza’s main street.
Premium Watch Ginza High-end brands such as Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, A. Lange & Sohne, Vacheron Constantin and Jaeger-LeCoultre.

These are independent dealers. Prices follow the secondary market and may be above or below retail. The dealer’s own warranty applies, not the manufacturer’s, unless stated.

Boutique or dealer?

Brand boutique or authorised retailer Independent dealer
Stock Current collection; popular models may be unavailable Whatever is on display, including discontinued references
Price Official retail Market price for that watch
Warranty Manufacturer’s, from date of sale Dealer’s own; remaining manufacturer cover only if stated
Checks needed Confirm the retailer is authorised Condition, polishing, replaced parts, service history, papers

A two-hour route

  1. Start at Ginza Station exit B1 and visit Wako and the Grand Seiko boutique inside it.
  2. Walk south-west along Chuo-dori to the dealers on and around the main street.
  3. Cross to Namiki-dori for the Grand Seiko Flagship Boutique and neighbouring brand boutiques.
  4. Finish at the brand boutique you care most about with time left for sizing and paperwork.

Two hours covers three or four stops if you are looking. If you intend to buy, allow another hour for payment, tax-free processing and bracelet adjustment.

Practical points

  • Hours: many Ginza boutiques open at 11:00. Mornings are quiet.
  • Weekends: Chuo-dori is closed to traffic on weekend afternoons, which makes walking easier and the shops busier.
  • Tax-free: bring your passport. For a watch priced at ¥1,000,000 or more before tax, the store must record its serial number under the rules that take effect on 1 November 2026. See our tax-free guide.
  • Payment: warn your card issuer before a large purchase and carry a second card.

Ginza or Nakano?

Ginza has the boutiques and the high-end dealers. Nakano Broadway has several mid-market pre-owned dealers on one floor and is better for comparing the same reference quickly. Serious buyers often visit both.
